Overview

About this course.

Project financing is a cornerstone of infrastructure and capital development across the Caribbean, where limited public sector budgets often necessitate creative and sustainable financing solutions. This course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the principles, practices, and evolving trends in project financing with a focus on the Caribbean context. Emphasis will be placed on financial structuring, risk allocation, credit enhancement, and stakeholder engagement in the pursuit of economically viable and bankable projects.

The programme offers a step-by-step methodology for assessing project feasibility, identifying appropriate financing instruments (including public-private partnerships), and engaging with multilateral development banks, commercial lenders, and private equity investors. Participants will leave with the skills to conceptualise, analyse, and structure projects. The course blends theory with practical group exercises and simulations, offering a holistic learning experience aimed at enhancing the capabilities of both public and private sector professionals involved in project development and finance.
