Leadership for Transformation Programme 2.0
A six-month, 110-hour programme delivered with CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, ending in a social impact project and a joint digital certificate.

About this course.
In collaboration with CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean and the Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business, this six-month programme is designed to strengthen the soft skills and competencies of leaders from both the public and private sectors. Successful participants receive a certificate issued by both organisations.
CAF contributes to the comprehensive training of leaders from civil society organisations and from the public and private sectors of Latin America and the Caribbean, at national and subnational levels, developing their leadership skills and strengthening their commitment to the sustainable development of their communities and territories.

Curriculum
What the programme offers.
- Training in interpersonal skills – self-awareness, personal development, public speaking, argumentation, communication, negotiation and teamwork
- Identifying real problems within communities in order to design social projects with impact
- Key topics including CAF’s agenda, the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs, behavioural sciences, neurodiversity, inclusion, economic recovery, and the relationship between citizens and the state
- Shared experience among participants and partner organisations from across the region
Programme structure
Six modules over six months.
110 hours in total – 55 delivered by CAF through the CANVAS e-learning platform, and 55 delivered by the Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business:
- Leadership: current landscape and challenges – a new form of leadership, vocation and culture, climate change and the SDGs, ethical leadership, women’s empowerment, organisational behaviour and governance
- Leadership and personal development – behavioural sciences, leadership and well-being, accountability, authentic leadership, organisational behaviour and culture, emotional intelligence, identity and mindfulness
- Leadership and communication – effective communication, public speaking and argumentation, storytelling, team leadership, assertive communication, crisis communication and conflict resolution
- Leadership and public service – public leadership, government and local management, governance and civic engagement, innovation, digital transformation and public reform
- Leadership, projects and economy – impact evaluation, leadership, finance and entrepreneurship, AI and its ethical challenges, strategic planning, financial literacy, social innovation and sustainability
- Final capstone project – tutorials and a masterclass supporting delivery of the project
Alongside the modules runs a Project Design Lab using Design Thinking – Empathise, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test – with tools including an Empathy Map, Problem Tree, Idea Canvas, User Journey and Project Formulation Matrix, complemented by the Logical Framework and Theory of Change. Teams respond to challenges set by CAF. The best-evaluated projects across the region are selected for an in-person acceleration bootcamp, with one representative per finalist team attending.

Our teaching approach incorporates syndicate learning, case studies, regular assessments and immersion in real-life industry projects. Assessment varies by course, combining assignments, tests and participation.
