2022 Business Outlook  by Dr. Ron Sookram

COVID 19 will remain a major challenge and organisations will continue to build on the strategies that helped them to be resilient over the last 20 plus months. However it is important for them to also give greater attention to employee wellbeing with particular focus on the psychological effects that have emerged as a result of the virus. With the anticipation of increased infections and deaths the psychological effects such as depression and alienation are expected to be significant.

Therefore, employers need to genuinely consider this growing issue and engage workers to appropriately provide support. Employers who get this right are expected to gain strong social capital, strengthening their employee loyalty and productivity. These can certainly be valuable factors in driving organisational success in 2022.
